Barcelona are planning to extend Firmin Lopez’s contract in the future once they have enough salary cap space.

‘Ufabet Sport’ reported on Tuesday that Barcelona are planning to hold talks with the representatives of Fermin Lopez to extend the 21-year-old midfielder’s contract until 2029. 

Firmin joined Linares on loan for the 2022-23 season before returning to the club last summer. With the 21-year-old midfielder impressing in pre-season and proving himself a regular in the first-team. With Xavi Hernandez securing his deal in September.

Firmin shone for Barcelona last season, scoring 11 goals in just 19 starts. Before being called up to the Spain national team by Luis de la Fuente and being part of the squad that won Euro 2024 and he is now part of the squad for the Paris Olympics. 

Barcelona are reportedly planning to extend Firmin’s contract by two more years until the summer of 2029. UFABET but the Blaugrana will need to clear some salary cap space before making the move.

His new deal will run until 2028 or 2029. But it depends on Barcelona having space in the FFP salary cap before they can register him under the new contract. Fermín was second in the team when it came to goals last season, behind only Robert Lewandowski.
